The Qur'an is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God (Arabic: الله, Allah). It is the sacred scripture of Muslims, who believe that Allah revealed it to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel. The Qur'an is divided into chapters called suras, which are arranged in a sequence that follows the order of the chapters in the original Arabic text. Each sura contains a number of ayahs (verse), which are then divided into a number of smaller verses. The Qur'an is considered by Muslims to be the finest piece of literature in the Arabic language.
